Anna Schaeffer Shadel, 96, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 under the care of Hospice Savannah.

Mrs. Shadel was born in Redding, PA on September 26, 1913, the daughter of the late Irwin and Edna Mae Boynton Schaeffer. Anna had resided in Savannah for the last year and a half, previously residing in Annapolis, MD for many years. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Shadel was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Donald F. Shadel. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn A. McLauchlan of Savannah, GA; son, Donald L. Shadel of Columbia, SC; brother, James F. Boynton of Monroe Township, NJ; granddaughter, Angela E. Richardson and great-grandchildren, Cullen and Colton Richardson.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Messiah Lutheran Church.
